#OOTD | The Perfect Gift

My MIL nailed it with my Christmas gift. I imagine her stepping into H&M, holding this sweater dress up and saying, ” This is so Mimi”

I love this sweater dress, it will be in heavy rotation in the following weeks. I stepped out to a fun blog event last week that I’ll tell you all about soon and wore this awesome piece of clothing.

It’s gray, and  plain except for the slits on the side and the seam down the center. The slits aren’t too high where it couldn’t be worn as a dress with a cute pair of leggings or tights. I opted for jeans.

Although it is sweater material you will be seeing this in the Spring with some sandals and rolled up sleeves.

I am likely to wear this one until it has lint balls on it. Judge me.

Stitch Fix Review

Stitch Fix Classic Fashion + Video

I was provided compensation from Stitch Fix. I love clothes, I assume you do to!

Saturdays in the mall used to be an activity I looked forward to.

Now? Not so much, amazing what age, fiscal responsibility and plain ole lack of time will do to curb your shopping habits. I still love clothes, and I like to look nice so grabbing clothing items where I see them be it  Target, Marshall’s or even Walmart has become the norm.

I’ll admit I’m not a huge online shopper but I’m getting there. When Stitch Fix reached out to me I was happy to give the clothing subscription box a chance to see if they could be capable of dropping me a few clothing items without me having to think about it.

I’d heard mixed reviews about the service so was anxious to see if the stylist would be able to feel me out from my profile and put together a decent “fix” as they call it.

I was pleased for the most part. My stylist seemed to nail my classic, no frills style.

I love a good stripe. This blue and white striped shirt is also the perfect staple.

Overall I was very pleased.

How the service works is you log in and set up an account highlighting types of items that you like. You are sent a “fix”. Take a look at what you’ve received and whatever you don’t like in the fix you go online and select what you are returning and simply place the item {s}  in the pre addressed and stamped envelope and leave it in your mailbox. You are then charged for the items that you decide to keep.

If you want to try out your first fix click here to get started.

Want to see my initial reaction to the items in the box. Check out my Youtube unboxing video. Be sure to subscribe while you are over there. Looking to upload videos every Friday that may not get announced over here!

Have you ever tried Stitch Fix? Is this a service you would be interested in?

Moms Do Holiday Style + $250 Nordstrom GC Giveaway

Seems like back in the day when our parents went to holiday parties everything was black tie and fancy. Not that there aren’t fancy holiday parties any more I just don’t get invited to many!! Most of the holiday gatherings I attend border on a more casual chic vibe.

Happy to join in with some other fashionable moms to bring you some seasonal fashion inspiration.

The beauty of skinny jeans are their ability to be dressed up or down. I paired my favorite pair of skinnies with a black and white fringe sweater that I absolutely adore  and a wool floppy hat.

Black, white and gray are a triple threat on my fashion stage. Understated yet classic!

Head over to Take Time for Style to take a peek at their holiday style inspirationEnter to win a $250 Nordstrom gift card here!

Olivia Palermo | My Style Crush

After nearly getting rid of all of my clothing on a random purge last year, I’m realizing that I need to replace those pieces for the upcoming winter season.

I’m not sure if I’m quite ready for the minimalism of a capsule wardrobe but I am certain I only want classic pieces mixed in with a few very cost effective trendy items.

Classic styles are extremely easy to thrift, and I am planning to stock up on oxfords and blazers from my area Goodwill stores. I’ve really been thinking about my style lately and classic still and will likely always work for me.

One of my favorite classic styled semi celebrity is Olivia Palermo. Yes, I’m still salty about how she did Lauren on the City but I’m moving on…

Here are some of my favorite looks from her.

The beauty in all of these looks are that they are simple  yet stylish and fit for a busy mom like myself who doesn’t want to trade style for comfort. In a few days or so I’ll do a thrift haul video of some classic items I hope to find in the coming week at the thrift store.

Who is your style crush?
