Weekend WrapUp–Birthday Edition

Hi!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. My birthday was on Saturday and surprisingly and I really kept it low key….I’ll just say I was saving the “Turn Up” for next year when I turn 35. If you don’t get the “Turn Up” reference…don’t feel bad, being that I’m 34 I should probably refrain but y’all know me #classyratchet

Friday night, I was in an all around funky mood. You know that mood you get in when nothing is really wrong but you just want to be funky. As I was laying in the bed I had an epiphany that a trip to Target would make me feel better. At 8:30p I got out of the bed, headed out to my local Target and bought a bunch of nothing…wouldn’t you know, an instant pick me up!!

Target

Well the mood lifter was short lived because Saturday I woke up with the same issues…moody and add indecisive because at that point I still wasn’t sure what I would be doing for my birthday. I finally put together a quick dinner with my girls from college at one of my favorite restaurants in the Virginia Highlands area of Atlanta. We had a great dinner at Murphy’s, we drank, ate and laughed hysterically. Reminds me that we need to get together more often.

My birthday dinner

A very classy birthday dinner amongst best friends.

I would say it was definitely a turn down from last year!!

Sunday, I woke up and did a little thrift and grocery shopping prior to taking Addison for an afternoon showing of Charlotte’s Web at the Alliance Theater. It was her first play and she did well up until the last 15 minutes. The play was only an hour but her little attention span is still very fickle.

Weekend Wrap Up

Last week was trying to say the least. All of the drama with the house left me mentally fried and I was more than ready for the weekend. I treated myself and got my “hurrr did” to kick off the weekend…cause if you would’ve seen what it looked like before I sat in her chair….if only I had a picture

Anywho.

Saturday I headed to Macy’s to ogle check out Marcus Samuelsson as he gave a cooking demonstration with Macy’s Culinary Council. I’ll do a detailed post later in the week.

My son tagged along, and after we left Macy’s we headed to one of my friend’s house for her son’s birthday party.

Here we are at the birthday party exactly 4 years earlier. We were missing Erika  on Saturday but Niya is in her place. At the time we took the original photo Niya was living in Dallas.

So thankful for these friendships.

After the party was over we headed home and then the Mr. suggested family night so I barely had time to catch my breath and we were back out the door. Since the tripod was already up we snapped this impromptu family selfie before heading out.

We had a great time bowling. In the end the Mr. and I ended up winning one game a piece.

Sunday, I cleaned and got the house ready yet again to go on the market….and then I counted down the minutes until #BeyonceBowl.

How was your weekend? Did you get your “hurr did”? Did Beyonce slay or not?

Have a great week!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was pretty busy. I got a chance to get out with a few of my homies that I went to college with that I don’t get a chance to get out with often.

Friday I kicked off the weekend having lunch at Murphy’s with Bunnie. The Mr. took Friday off so him and the baby tagged along, sitting at a separate table. Seeing that he isn’t the most cooperative when it comes to taking photos I was grateful for this shot he took of Bunnie and I.

Friday evening my bestie Brandye and my godbrother fell through for what we like to call Family night. We sit around sip on a little something something and laugh and talk. One topic of conversation this week was whose verse on the All Gold Everything remix was better. T.I. or Jeezy….I say Jeezy, you can roll with whoever you chose!

Saturday I took my son to a birthday party, came home and I grabbed my overnight bag and headed to the city to join my girls for a birthday sleepover. We ate sushi and drank wine  before heading out to dinner at Aja and afterward we partied a little and made it back to the suite around 4. They sat up talking, not I. I climbed in that bed and went to sleep!  Great times. I love my girls.

I got home Sunday morning around 11 and just lounged around, cooked dinner, and did some laundry.

How was your weekend? Anything spectacular?

Weekend Wrap Up

This was one of those whirlwind weekends that has left me feeling every bit of frazzled and delirious.

Saturday morning we headed to Orlando to attend my husband’s cousin’s wedding…or I could’ve just said my cousin in law.

Roadtrip

We came back home one child less. My stepdaughter spent the holidays with us.

Anyway.

We left here with ample time to get there before the six o’clock start time but of course there was traffic. We finally made good time after the traffic and managed to squeeze out a little time to hit the outlet on our way to the hotel. We did a little shopping, grabbed something to eat and we were off rushing to the hotel to get ready for a six o’clock wedding that started an hour late.

I had an awesome time. My husband has a huge family, so whenever they get together it is fun to be had and plenty of pictures to be taken. We wobbled, cha cha slid and loudly/ratchetly rapped along with Trinidad James.

Addy dancing

She danced the entire night. Matter of fact we had to hold her hand to keep her from running on the floor during the first dance.

The wedding ended late, we went to bed late, and got up early to hit the road back to the A. Got back here around 4 and I went right back out the door to do some grocery shopping. Came home and cleaned up because my Dad is coming to visit from Las Vegas today! I am pretty excited about that.

In a nut shell that was  the quick and dirty of my first weekend of 2013. How was yours? Anything exciting?
