Life Me Sanity

Lemonade?

So when life throws you lemons, the general consensus is you should be catching these small round objects whilst ducking to avoid getting hit from others that are undoubtedly being hurled at you. In the midst of bobbing, and weaving please add in squeezing, and the pouring in of sugar and water. Don’t forget to carefully stir all of these ingredients together in a nice southern inspired glass pitcher fit for a wrap around porch in the heat of summer.

On a good day I’m all about wetting your whistle with the sweet tartness that makes all well on a hot summer day. However, on today I feel like emptying all of the lemonade that  I’ve made into a super soaker and having target practice.

I. AM. TIRED.

See the thing with faith is those days come when you truly want to throw in the towel and admit defeat. Today is that day. The past few months have been a true roller coaster ride and I’m sure we all know when we’ve hit that rock bottom, that throw your hands in the air moment and I’m not talking about waving them around like you just don’t care in the party sense..but very much so in the literal.

These past few weeks have proven to be a challenge in the worse kind of way. This house situation has consumed me for the past year and the place where we are now offers up a whole ‘nother level of risk and reward. I promise to share more later in the week but today I just cried and needed to come here to my virtual couch to sit and have a chat.

In return for being such gracious listeners, can I offer you a glass of lemonade, I sure have a lot of it to go around. I’m pretty sure at this point putting it in a water gun and going to town will be the equivalent of pumping 6 oz of breastmilk and knocking the bottle over. I know about this.

I would rather give you some refreshment, read encouragement. If I’m still pressing you should to.

By the way, I’m offering you a glass of  good, wholesome southern lemonade…cause I know nothing about the Mike’s Hard variety. Nothing.

How you doin’?

Hey! just wanted to say I feel you. I know what it’s like when throwing your hands up is really the most polite way you can think of to release your woes upon the world. Feel free to take this moment. God is still gonna be there when it’s over. And even He knows that we need to blow off a little steam sometimes. But in the end He’ll pull you through like no other. I look forward to hearing about this amazing blessing about to come your way once the storm passes! Stay blessed 🙂

I too have been at a place where I’m tired of making lemonade and just want to throw said lemons against a wall! But in the end, God made a way. I know in the trenches, it seems like it will never ever end, or turn out right. But it WILL! God has a plan for you. It’s something so big, you can’t even imagine. Like that song says, ” he will pour you out a blessing that you won’t have room to receive.”

Hi Farrah! Thanks for the comment. You are absolutely right. We often associate being tired with the physical but our minds need rest too. He tells us that if we trust He will indeed give us rest! I receive this and will rest my nerves. What will come of this will be and I will continue to praise and be thankful for every lesson!

Life has thrown me lemons so much that I don’t even know what lemonade taste like and the way I am going I probably never will but what keeps me going is someone has it worse than me so I have to be thankful. Things will work out right on time when its meant to happen.

Hey there love. Sometimes we are Job’s season where everything starts good. Then out of nowhere things get worse & worse but in those seasons it’s about praising. Yes it’s been a grueling year dealing with the house but so much to be thankful in that time. Think how much you learned in this process, think of where it’s taking you. It’s hard to see all that but maybe there is a huge blessing on not getting that house. Be open to not receiving certain things that’s a blessing too.

This house wasnt for you but the house of your dreams is. Was this truly the house of dreams. Start visualizing that dream house again. Focus on how it makes you feel. Start a secret Pinterest board & pin. Pin every room.

I believe you will be in your dream house this year. I believe that when God is ready it will be smooth. I believe this part of the story is over. You are walking into that blessing. Just thank him in advance no matter how you feel.

Funny you say that. When things are going good I sometimes get this feeling that the bad is not far behind. We shouldn’t live that way especially looking at all that Job went through to only be given double for his trouble. If we followed that thinking we would be somewhat thankful for bad times!

The funny thing is amidst all of these stressful feelings I have I too believe everything will work in our favor no matter what the outcome is!

Mimi – God loves us so much. I understand where you are right now. I’m there too. I like to call it “God’s waiting room.” Isn’t that accurate? I mean, right now, all we can do is trust in the Lord and wait on Him. It certainly isn’t easy and for the most part, I don’t do well at making lemonade from the lemons I get. But God’s grace is sufficient for me…and you. Stand tall girlfriend! Remember, we win through Him!
