{#OurProject52} 3/52 – Guilty Pleasure

The bass in my chest, speakers rattling, simultaneously saying “bust it on the beat” with said rapper describes just a few aspects of my favorite guilty pleasure. I don’t hear the words, I just feel the beat, and I like it….really loud to get the full effect. My guilty pleasure is ratchet music.

…and no I don’t listen when the children are in the car but once they get out I turn the music up and let the beat ride. I’ve been looked at funny for sliding through my suburban neighborhood’s grocery store lot, I suppose for noise infractions. I care not. I like a good hood beat.

The current song busting my speakers? Not for Long by B.o.B featuring Trey Songz.

Tip: When photographing one object try shooting it off center using the law of thirds. Basically dissect your desired picture into a 3X3 grid, the idea is to put your object where the vertical and horizontal lines intersect for a more interesting view. Check to see if your camera has the option to display the grid in the view finder for you, if you were ever wondering why those lines were there, you’re welcome!

Thank you again for linking up, we are enjoying your interpretations of the prompts. Be sure to go visit Lashawn to see what her “Guilty  Pleasure” is.  See you next week for “Blue”. Looking forward to seeing what your guilty pleasures are! Link up will be open for one week

Oh, that is just too funny. I used to do that too when the kids were little. I also used to watch a lot of Jerry Springer. That ended when The Hubs came home and the kids were yelling “Jerry! Jerry!” I had a lot of explaining to do. LOL

Those Jerry Springer days. Some of us used to rush to the student lounge after class to watch. It used to be packed in there!

I LOVE rap music and always will. I don’t find myself in the car alone often so I listen through Pandora while I’m cleaning the house. When the baby goes down for his nap I pop in my headphones and I dance and clean my way thru my list of things to do.

I love the tips that you and LaShawn give each week. I have so much to learn when it comes to photography.
I like old school rap too. I don’t know very many new rap songs, because I’d rather just listen too the stuff I loved from childhood, high school, and college.

I had to look up that song. I’m still not really sure what ratchet music is, but the song has a good beat- and I love a good beat. I usually get my beat from trance and other electronic dance music. You might check out some Paul Oakenfold music on Spotify sometime. I think you might like the beat.

I love a good hood beat! I’m still down for the old school ratchetry. Anything by TI, Jeezy or Cash Money taking over for the 99-2000. Imagine the looks I get in the courtroom parking lot with Gucci blasting. Lol!!!!!!!

But I will flip it in a heart beat and have some Old School Gospel (my sister is always cracking up because CD’s in the car go from hood rap to gospel) …dont judge me! LOL!!!

I’m so out of touch with current ratchet music, but I will say that I love my old school gangsta rap (hides face in shame) – Tupac, RZA, GZA, Wu-Tang, Dead Prez… I could go on ( gosh who am I ) lol –

I was such a hip hop head in middle school and Wu Tang 36 Chambers and Black Moon were my faves! These kids today know nothing about real rap music.

Ha, I had no idea what the grid was for. Ratchet music is good for the soul, it reminds us to enjoy the simple things. Simple things that give us great energy. I’m know to pull up busting a move behind the wheel.

Yep, I’m guilty of blasting the music when I’m in the car alone. Usually reggae or soca but when I find an old school hip hop channel, I am all over that. I know people in other cars must think I’m crazy. LOL. Love the pic and the tip. Will give this a try. I just need to slow down and pay attention more when shooting.
