My Little Mermaid and Her Adventures

Social Fabric

As a child I loved The Little Mermaid along with An American Tale…I digress.

Back to Ariel.

I’m sure I am getting pay back now for all of the movies that I have to watch over and over again as a result of having subjected my parents to countless views of The Little Mermaid via VHS tape. Remember those?! I watched mine so much that the tape came out and my dad had to replace it.

To this day I still enjoy the movie and will cuddle in to watch it every now and then. My daughter as a result of having watched it with me and catching some of the episodes on The Disney Channel has also gained a love for Ariel. Being the girly girl that she is I went out to Walmart  and purchased her an Ariel dress up set to tickle her little fancy and to keep her from dressing up in my clothes.

When she put on this dress it was like magic. She twirled and sang about being a mermaid and continually told me that her name was Princess Ariel and she needed to go to Disney World!

Princess Ariel

With Ariel as a part of the Disney Princess crew there is now a great selection of Disney Princess products available at Walmart.  These are some great products to think about as we move into the holiday season.  In addition, the Collectors Edition Blue Ray/DVD will be available October 1st and we know how important it is to get these collectibles before they find their way back into the vault. Can you believe The Little Mermaid first debuted in 1989….I was 10 *faints*. This is the perfect opportunity to share a piece of our childhood with our children.

My girl can walk good in those heels. She’ll even run in them.

She looks like she’s having a blast. Moo has recently gotten into The Little Mermaid thanks to mini clips they’re playing on Disney Jr and the Princess Pets game.

I love when they re release things from our childhood. These kids today grow up so fast. There was still a sense of innocence with our childhoods. Not so much anymore.

The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite Disney movies, that was until Tiana came out. My daughter is obsessed with Princess Tiana.

I still have not seen Princess and the Frog. The kids saw it. I think I need to get it for them to add to their movie collection.

She reminds me SO much of Nia especially when her eyes are closed – she looks like she caught the spirit of Ariel! LOL! Growing up on Disney then being in girls school/women’s college for 9 years I felt a bit conflicted about the whole princess thing, but I definitely think it’s how you approach it. Besides I had no choice when my BFF watched Nia at 16 months old and showed her her first Disney movie and she was hooked!

I’m not going to be attending Blogalicious but I am going to make sure to get down there and say hello. Is Nia still coming?

No, I’m going alone! It was supposed to be a family trip but my husband has to go on a business trip and I didn’t want to take Nia out of school only to put her in childcare. My sister stepped up to help while I’m gone so I’m very much looking forward to some mommy time! Look forward to seeing you!

Hey! I’m new here and I know my comment is late but, I just love Ariel! I too had a VHS that I watched until it popped. I also slept in my Little Mermaid night gown every night (why did my mom let me do that?) Anywhy, thanks for the memories!

I found something similar a couple of weeks ago, however
you did in-depth research, along with your post appears
to be more compelling than the others. I’m impressed by the arguments you supplied as well as the
fashion of your article. I enjoy when articles are both informative and interesting, when even boring facts are
presented in an interactive way. Well, it’s definitely on your post.
