Family Shopping Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

Fun. Family.  Football. Fleeting.

Those four words would describe this past weekend perfectly.

My husband’s mother and sister came in town on Friday evening to spend some quality time with us and my in laws that live here.

Saturday morning we set out for the football field to cheer on my nephew at his homecoming game. My nephew’s team has a group of moms that are all about the tailgating experience. Tents, fried fish, hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks. You name it they had it. The morning weather was cool and perfect and we  really enjoyed one another.

Once the sun got in the sky good it was time to roll out and we headed down to Tanger Outlet to do some shopping. The Columbus day holiday sales were popping. I say holiday sales loosely seeing that they were advertised as Columbus day, yet there were Christmas trees, garland and even Christmas lights in the mix. What happened to Halloween and Thanksgiving?

The pumpkins, ghosts and turkeys have to be upset

I just want the retailers to see I have peeped their game. It’s all about getting us in the mood to spend money. Pretty soon Christmas in July will have a new meaning.

I digress.

Sunday we found our way to Legoland. This was my first time visiting and I was leery before because of the cost but I am glad to announce if you purchase your ticket online and go after four the price is discounted and children 2 and under are free…You’re welcome

We had a great time. The children had a ball, I almost had to go and drag Lil Mama out of the foam Legos. Sooo let me get into  the lady I saw there playing with her son whilst carrying the largest shopping bag I’ve ever seen and the fact that it had Tory Burch on it…… She made my entire day. I daydreamed of all the beautiful, preppy goodness she may have had in there. Flats, boots, that sweater I’ve been ogling….I digress…again.

WonderFULL weekend I had. I hope yours was just as exciting.

You know the drill. Do share. How was your weekend?

Hobby Lobby has had Christmas stuff up since August I can’t. I love Thanksgiving and I hate that retailers just skip over it. Looks like you guys had a great weekend! And little Mama in those leggos is too cute!

I can’t believe you all had lovely weather. We’re only four hours away and it was rainy, cold and dark here this weekend. I spent the weekend fighting off what was trying to be the start of a cold. Woke up Saturday with a running nose and sore throat. Thanks to my mom for introducing me to the wonder of garlic, vinegar and sugar water.

I feel better. I also did a cleaning of the house. I’m talking about steaming the mattresses, the chairs and giving the floors a good wash. I’m sure that will help with keeping the cold germs to a minimum too. The highlight of my weekend is that JJ started walking unassisted!! No holding on to the table, hands or chairs. He tried to do a little run, but quickly learned that he’s not quite there yet.

I thought that same thing about your daughter and your MIL! WOW!
I that BAG IS HUGE! I still haven’t made it Lego land yet but my son has, so I feel good about that.
And yes, this Saturday was PERFECT weather!

Looks like you had tons of family fun– which is the best fun— my weekend was full of crafting and play time outside with the kiddos– nothing fancy but still the most enjoyable 🙂

BTW– I agree with you about the stores– I went into Hobby Lobby and it was Christmas Heaven— the poor Halloween and Thanksgiving stuff now had one aisle everything was on sale ( which I loved).. but I feel rushed:)

That looks like a super fun weekend. I want to take the kids to legoland one day, I know my boys would get a real kick out of it! I love football too I hope to get to a few games before it gets ridiculously cold.

I’m dying to visit Legoland. Looks like the little one had a blast. There’s nothing like a weekend filled with family, football and tailgating. Fun! And I see the holiday signs, they really do get you in that holiday mood to shop. Marketing at it’s best. I’m with you on the daydreaming about what’s in that ladies Tory Burch bag. It’s huge and I’m sure filled with lots of happy.

I’m loving this post (and how you lean back and look like a G in some of your pics, like “Yeah, I actually am this fabulous on a daily basis.”) That HUGE T. Burch bag – at Legoland, no less- is definitely daydream-worthy.

LOL! I thought the same thing when I saw that woman’s Tory Burch shopping bag. Too funny. And isn’t that annoying retailers are pushing into Christmas, already? Dang.

I’ve been meaning to take Pookah to Lego land, but the price…I’ll be checking on that after 4 pm…
Addy looks so much like your mother in law!
Ahhh, tailgating. I know I’ll have to do it someday…
My weekend? I spent Saturday morning in a cleaning frenzy ( someone was coming to see the house) and then was lazy for the rest of the weekend.
    Looks like you had fun!

So glad you enjoyed your family this weekend. I was just talking to my husband about outlet shopping…that will be an upcoming adventure for us! Do you recommend them for Black Friday?

That is indeed the largest shopping bag I have put my eyes on. I hope it was filled to the brim…otherwise, it’s just silly.

I finally got time to relax and check out all of my favorite blogs this weekend!

There are definitely Black Friday deals. The question is do you want to fight the crowd. I think the deals are worth it but if you aren’t a huge fan of crowds I would say stay clear of the midnight madness. The deals are there but not great enough for me to say you absolutely need to be out there at that time of night.

“Out of all the teams we’ve had in the past few years, this is the one that I think stands the most chance to contend,” said Riverview girls coach Sandy Warren. Long story short: A few weeks ago I was invovled in an accident that was caused by the other driver. One poll has Pioneer ranked number one and another poll has Central Catholic ranked as number one. In Canada, only a handful of safe and well established regenerative stem cell therapies are available for blood disorders such as leukemia with bone marrow transplants, immune disorders, and tissue grafting.
