Hi Cyber Friends!
Hope your weekend was well. I can’t hardly believe we are almost done with July. It is almost like it didn’t exist. My children will be starting school in just 2 weeks and I can hardly believe it. This summer has been so rainy, I just don’t feel like we took advantage of it, but we always have the fall to look forward to.
This Friday we got the gut wrenching news that the house we currently have a contract on did not appraise. Seriously this $*&^ makes me want to holler. Again, $50K under seems to be the magic number. I just wanted to cry but managed to wrangle the tears and remind myself that ultimately God knows what we need and He will supply it in due time but I wasn’t in the mood to rationalize that on Friday night. What did I do? Closed my door and dared anyone enter.
Saturday morning we got word that the homeowner counters back and asks can we come to the table with $20K out of our pocket. I have his phone number and started to give him a call and a schoolin’ on how real estate works because apparently his agent didn’t. Who in their right mind would pay more for a house than its worth? I’ll wait.
The decision at this point is to submit additional comps that sold in the area for higher to the appraiser and see if he will consider raising the value on the home a bit. Heard it all before. See, this process takes an additional 5 business days when we are scheduled to close on the 25th. I could seriously scream right now. Pushing this out past the end of the month presents a bunch of financial issues for us because we pushed all of our small bills to the end of the month to make sure that a figure that contains two digits and the first digit isn’t a 1 then a comma and three additional digits was sitting in the bank. Oh and add to that school starts in two weeks. I just….
UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Okay. I’m done.
I had to turn my frown upside down and get my EN.TIRE life together, and packaged up all pretty in less than 2 hours to host a wonderful tea party sponsored by the Cadbury brand for Addison and her friends. Stay tuned later in the week for a detailed post but I’ll let you get the same sneak peek my Instagram got
The lovely Bunnie from Bunnie Hilliard and Co. took care of all the decorations.
After entertaining these sweet girls and lovely ladies for an * in my best British acccent* afternoon spot of tea, I switched gears and headed out with the Mr. to be entertained with good food, great drinks and awesome conversation at the home of one of our favorite couples. They truly took the edge off, or it could’ve been the drinks but I can’t truly call it!
Sunday, headed out to our uncle’s house with hopes of getting in the pool but that rain that I spoke about…yeah. No deal. While over there my SIL/Real Estate Agent mentioned that the sellers agent suggested to her to get the termination paperwork started. Maaaaaaaaan, there is no escaping this mess. We are thinking out our strategy on this Sunday evening. At this point I say call their bluff and pull out before they officially do and move on. We have reason to believe that they are in a position where they need to move. At this point I don’t care anymore, this game sucks. Oh, the house we were building? Someone moved into it. Not that I wanted it or anything but that is no longer an option. Tuh.
Enough of my mess. How was your weekend?!
