Stuck on You – Penny Scallan Labels

I was provided complimentary product to facilitate this review. All opinions are mine.

While some children in the north are just getting their get out of school pass, my children have already been out for a month. With a July full of visiting and traveling, to keep my sanity I’m attempting for like once in my life to start early on the back to school rush. I’m sure this month will fly by and the school bell will be ringing on August  3 and I’ll still be in Walmart on August 2nd looking for something but at least it will be for a few  things instead of all the things, like last year.

I won’t tell you how many sweaters, jackets, and lunchboxes came up missing when my son first started school. I mean even to this day a jacket or sweater won’t make it home. With my youngest heading to kindergarten this year I think labeling their things will be a great option to make sure all of their belongings have a good chance of getting back to them if misplaced.

From dance bags to nap mats, I am really excited about labeling their things with these personalized labels from Stuck on You. I chose the Penny Scallan Value Pack, the value and  amount of stickers you get for the price is amazing. The quality is unsurpassed, and I was just about as giddy opening them as I am when Target starts putting out school and office supplies.

The pack included:

48 Penny Scallan Clothing Labels (.7 x .7in.)

48 Penny Scallan Name Labels (2.6 x 1in.)

Personalized Bag Tag (2.2in.)

Whether you are getting your children ready for camp or school I highly recommend Stuck on You. I’ve praised them in the past and I will continue to do so. From designs to quality to pricing they are exceptional when it comes to “the coolest kids labels and gifts!”

Do you label your children’s things?

The time that I have to simply pick up my camera and shoot these days is pretty much non existent. Unless it is product shots for the blog, I have completely turned to using my phone to capture those spontaneous moments. My goal is to pick up my camera more  in the second half of the year. I am challenging myself to get back to using my camera from this week forward to be inspired again and take those shots that are more than spontaneous but actually thought out and planned!

This week I was categorizing all of my photos in the computer and realized how important capturing moments are because everything is different now from just a year ago. For this week I am highlighting some of my favorite photos I’ve captured of my children from Summers past!

Watermelon Cucumber Feta Salad

Here’s the thing, I made this watermelon cucumber feta salad because this sweet tooth has to go!

So let’s talk about the fact that I’m giving up white sugar….or at least moving toward that goal. I am in my second week and I promise my sweet tooth has been taunting me like a relentless bully. The struggles eliminating the hidden sugars are nothing in comparison to those Oreos in there that just keep calling my name.

See I’m not stripping the whole family….just yet. I’m trying to fine tune this new lifestyle before I thrust them into it. So the struggle has been how to curb and satisfy my sweet tooth.

*insert watermelon*

Love watermelon. L O V E.

I love salty stuff as well, stripped myself of that about a year ago so I thought what better than a watermelon, cucumber and feta salad. Sweet, salty and refreshing.

This salad has just the right amount of all natural sweetness and saltiness.

Super easy to make with just cubed watermelon and feta cheese ( or you could use crumbles) and cucumber. I’m not a huge fan of cucumber so I made sure to slice thinly and drizzled balsamic vinaigrette over the top.

Prep time:

Total time:
Ingredients
  • Half of a ripe watermelon (cubed or balled)
  • 3 cups cubed feta cheese
  • Thin cucumber slices
  • Balsamic Vinegar
Instructions
  1. Combine watermelon, feta and cucumbers into large ball
  2. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over mixture and toss
  3. For extra garnish add mint or onion

And because I love all things watermelon, this watermelon guacamole recipe will be in heavy rotation all season long. Some chips, a cold drink and this guac is all I need for some evening porch sitting.

Watermelon cucumber Feta Salad is the perfect summer salad recipe.

Are you a watermelon cucumber feta salad lover?

{#OurProject52} Fathers

To be brutally honest I think our society does a poor job at highlighting the huge difference Father’s make in the lives of children but does a great job at highlighting the dysfunctional behaviors that occur when they are absent. My husband is a great father and I am so thankful and blessed to have been raised by and married to men that take the role of fatherhood seriously.

Tip: When capturing certain moments, don’t be so preoccupied with grabbing the perfect shot, instead focus on capturing it. No one will look at your composition they will look at the memory captured!
