Building the House Episode 7

It has been a minute since I’ve done an update on our house situation and oddly enough nothing has changed. When I say nothing has changed I mean the physical status but the wheels behind the scenes continue to turn.

After my last update we finally decided to give up on the original agent and I submitted our paperwork to a business in the area that promised they could get a short sale done for us without us being delinquent on a payment. I gathered together all of the 4,872,129 pieces of documentation that they needed and sent it on.

Within two days I was contacted by an agent who wanted to come and take photos of the house to put it on the market. I had to delay her a few days. However, after our conversation it was decided that based on the market need in our area this house would likely sell before the new one was finished. After speaking with the underwriter we have decided to wait on putting the house on the market until the concrete has been poured at the new house.

Still we wait. But I am taking this as a lesson that God is really trying to show us that He controls all of the timing of things in our lives. In my haste I went through all of this trouble to get someone else to list the house and in the end I made more work for myself because the outcome remained the same. I’m not sure when they plan to pour the concrete, and I don’t plan on asking. I am receiving my lesson and letting everything take its course. I am understanding that although there is no physical manifestation at this time there is certainly a growth in faith and expectation.

So we wait!

Bass Buds…A Review

If you’ve been reading around these parts for awhile then you know I am a lover of the “ratchet” sect of music. While I enjoy all types of music, when I need to get a move on, am exercising, or running I need a little extra bass pep to get me in step.

These buds serve up an excellent amount of bass with great sound quality. Compared to my Apple buds they have a little more bass and are  more pleasing to the eye. I was sent a white pair but these come in a variety of colors and have Swarovski embellishments on the center of each bud. They are compatible with all smartphones, with the ability to control sound/music playback and activate voice commands. East set comes with 6 different sizes of ear buds to fit your ear and a very nice bag to store them in for travel.

The packaging on the product makes it a great gift or stocking stuffer.

Here are the different sized earbuds

The carrying bag

Bass Buds has been so generous as to reduce the cost from $85 to $30 before shipping and handling charges for my followers. Please feel free to use this code BB59815 through the month of December when ordering online.

If you would like more information about Bass Buds you can find them online in these places: Web, Twitter, and Facebook

I was provided a pair of Bass Buds in exchange for a review of the product. ALL opinions are my own

40 is My Magic Sleep Number

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit a local Sleep Number store in my area to try out some of the mattresses and do the assessment to figure out my personal sleep number. I have never seen so many mattresses in my life! From single mattresses to queen mattresses, I just couldn’t wait to try them out!!

I went into the experience knowing very little about the products except that the bed came with two remotes and it seemed like something that was pretty neat to play with. I had an idea that the cost was probably something that was out of my price range and as a result I never went in the store until I was presented with this review opportunity.

My first impression of the store was that I was utterly surprised that they sold more than just beds. There were sheets, comforters, pillows, and customizable headboards. I was sent a Coolfit Foam Pillow in exchange for my review and it is like the pillow of all pillows. We have dubbed it the “cloud” around here because that’s what it feels like. We fight over it and whoever falls asleep first is likely to get jacked of it. There was also state of the art bed linens that can detect when your body is hot and will draw the heat away to make sure you sleep comfortable. Just a whole bunch of bed linen awesomeness to be had.

I finally ventured to the back and laid on a mattress where the employee set the number as high as it would go and then she began lowering the numbers and asked me to tell her when I felt uncomfortable. From that point she raised it back up to the point where I felt most comfortable. That number was 40, my sleep number.

In addition she pulled up this state of the art analysis of the pressure zones in my body on a screen at the end of the bed that reminded me of plexiglass. I was able to see where my pressure zones where and how they turned from red to blue as she lowered me back down into my sleep number.

For lack of better words when I was laying at my sleep number it felt like I was being cuddled. If you’ve ever felt memory foam, just imagine being hugged by a memory foam man. I didn’t realize how much you really feel your pressure points when you lay on a regular mattress until I laid on the M9. I just wished they would loan me one for like a week so I could get the entire experience.

My store experience would’ve been a total WOW if I didn’t have to keep peeking up to make sure my children weren’t tearing up the store. I digress

After my analysis was complete a print out of the mattress type, costs and additional options were provided to me. Yep, my jaw dropped but keeping in mind that we wouldn’t have to purchase another mattress for 20 years we have decided to purchase one when we get ready to move.

Yes, the pricing is a bit more than what you would pay for an average mattress but the value is definitely there. The average mattress lasts about 7 years, you won’t have to replace this one for nearly 20. There are different price points and mattresses some more affordable than others but the investment in my eyes would be totally worth it. Before I bought a mattress, I read some articles like this one to make sure I was getting a good quality mattress.

If you do nothing but take a trip into the store and take a look around I think you will be surprised…just don’t take your kids *side eye*

Building The House…Episode 6

Much has changed since my last post. Not so much on the construction end but from my mental space regarding this process although I am sure it will change again. However at THIS moment I am in a good space.

Ultimately I know that in MY life all things come from God. ALL things. With that I have to leave this process in His hands and do what I can. Letting go is such a necessary evil, and these past few weeks have shown me that in more ways than one. I’m forcefully having to accept and swallow this horse pill but I’ve been praying and this week has been good.

The bank finally responded and basically approved us for the option to skip three payments. Once we skipped those three payments they would consider us for the short sale.

Nope. Not an option. We can’t miss any payments. After that news I got in contact with another agency that specializes in short sales and I was ready to send them our paperwork when the sales agent called to say she had been swamped and profusely apologized for her lack of attention to our file and that she would be contacting the bank on our behalf to complete the process.

We have decided to let her proceed putting our faith where it belongs and hoping for the best. Our lot still has not been graded but building is well under way in the first phase. It is really looking like January for the foundation to be poured with a closing date sometime in March or April. We need all of the time we can get!
