Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was busy for sure.

Started off Saturday serving with my Sorors at the Atlanta Community Food Bank sorting can goods to be distributed to needy families within Atlanta. Our efforts help feed nearly 15,000 people. What a great way to start off a Saturday.

After leaving the service project I headed to my SIL’s baby shower where we just had a ball celebrating with family and friends. I am so happy she is having a baby because I can get the new baby feel without having my own….cause I’m done having children. I can now say that and feel good about it!

Sunday I attended my very first sorority meeting and kicked it with our family that came in town for the baby shower.

How was your weekend? Anything spectacular?

Yes! I hope I can keep up the momentum. It is such a joy to work with such amazing women. I definitely picked the right chapter.

We spent the weekend fighting allergies. Not fun or fabulous at all. I have probably asked you this before but how do you balance everything that you do? I’m slowly starting to get my life after having the baby but I’m still struggling with carving in that girl time.

We fought allergies a few weeks ago and it was ugly so I already know of this headache that you speak of.

As far as balancing everything that I do I have to plan, plan and plan. I know it may seem like I just drop everything and go. When I leave folks have been fed or arrangements have been made for their meals, clothing etc. Sometimes I have to do so much to get out that I choose not to go! The sorority is going to take up a ton of my time so we had to have a discussion about that. I would really say getting the Mr. on board with your need to get out really helps and planning ahead. I will have another busy weekend so I am doing laundry early and cooking meals in the slow cooker etc. to make it a little easier on him while I’m gone. It can be a headache but I consider my time alone and my girl friend time very important. I think balance is imperative and I work to make that happen. No matter how much work it took me to get out I always find that time worth it.

However, there are times when I am like I’m out and I’m just that…OUT! He has to get it how he lives on those occasions and I don’t feel no kind of way about it!!

That’s where I’m at right now…getting him to understand and planning for it. Like you said, I always have the desire to go out but when it gets time to go I sometimes feel like it’s not worth it. I always have a good time once I’m out though. I’m working on making myself more of a priority and getting everyone in here to accept that I need that time away. Thanks for the pep talk!

Definitely a great way to start the weekend. I attended too many baby birthday parties and probably ate way too much food, but it was nice to get out of the house and spend time with family.
