Beauty Hair Lil Mama Nail Polish Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

Hey Y’all,

Hope your weekend was well and you are on target to have a wonderful week. There is something great about Mondays. I always feel like I have a clean slate to start with and I have all of the ambition in the world to do everything I set out to do and by Wednesday…well I’m waiting on Monday again to start over!

This weekend was slightly busy.

Friday I headed over to the Atlanta Sheraton to meet up with Motions Haircare who was one of the sponsors for the Black Girls Run inaugural 5K and 10K race that took place here over the weekend. I feel like a slacker for not running but that’s another story for another day.

I digress.

Had a great time talking with their brand manager about new and innovative ways to care for your hair while leading an active and fit lifestyle. Look for a detailed post regarding these products very soon. While I was there I ran into the lovely Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door.

Lincoln Movie Trailer

November 16th is the nationwide opening of the much anticipated Steven Spielberg directed movie Lincoln.

The film is telling the story of the tumultuous journey Abraham Lincoln took during his presidency to end the war, create a united country and abolish slavery.

Take a look at the trailer. Do you have any plans to see it once it hits the theaters?

My Revlon Expression Experiment

This post brought to you by Revlon. All opinions are 100% mine.

Remember a few weeks ago when I blogged about finally going to get some good foundation. Well quietly that was the start of a very miniscule but growing love for makeup. I’ve always admired a person who was able to “beat” their face for the pure enjoyment of heading to the grocery store while I stroll around with uneven skin tone and thin lopsided eyebrows.  Well thanks to YouTube and some beauty blog perusing I am trying to get better at perfecting my five minute face. I’m no where near there but I have been picking up an eyeshadow here, a blush there.

As a teenager I had awful acne prone skin that I constantly picked in. Who knew then that hindsight would be 20/20 and my dear Mama was right that my reluctance to “stay out of my face” would leave me with dark, crater like things on my face. I figured my fix for this would be to get a foundation primer…one day. Then the heavens opened up, or my mailbox depending on how you want to look at it and Revlon sent me two wonderful products to try out.

The Toddler Sleep Chronicles

Listen. I’m tired.

By nature I am a bit of an insomniac and in a nice quiet room I can function off of 3-4 peaceful hours of sleep. Please note I said peaceful.

Initially we embraced co-sleeping until it became violent as depicted here. The violence wasn’t getting any better so I started placing her in her own bed at night. Yet, like clockwork somewhere between the hours of 12a-1:30a she will sleep “drunk” walk  her way into our room. Sometimes she even detours to the kitchen, grabs a bottle of cold juice and will hurl it on the bed while yelling ” I shirsty”

Can you imagine a cold bottle of Simply Lemonade touching your leg in the middle of a good sleep. You don’t want to. Trust me.

So we know she had issues with staying in the bed early on
