Beauty Hair Lil Mama Nail Polish Weekend

Weekend Wrap Up

Hey Y’all,

Hope your weekend was well and you are on target to have a wonderful week. There is something great about Mondays. I always feel like I have a clean slate to start with and I have all of the ambition in the world to do everything I set out to do and by Wednesday…well I’m waiting on Monday again to start over!

This weekend was slightly busy.

Friday I headed over to the Atlanta Sheraton to meet up with Motions Haircare who was one of the sponsors for the Black Girls Run inaugural 5K and 10K race that took place here over the weekend. I feel like a slacker for not running but that’s another story for another day.

I digress.

Had a great time talking with their brand manager about new and innovative ways to care for your hair while leading an active and fit lifestyle. Look for a detailed post regarding these products very soon. While I was there I ran into the lovely Eboni from The Fashionista Next Door.

After leaving there I headed over to Harold’s chicken with some friends of mine. I had heard  a lot about the Chicago based restaurant and had been dying to try it since it made its way south a few months ago. The chicken wings were amazing and seeing how my children had tried, fried and laid to the side every good nerve that I had last week I treated myself to a drink…

Saturday morning we were up early to head to my nephew’s football game. Lil Mama has this new thing where she has to drag around this ugly baby doll and when she is done with it I end up holding on to it. Needless to say me and the babydoll were chilling in the shade while Lil Mama ran around. Glad to report my nephew’s team came out victorious.

Leaving the game. She was forced to carry her own baby

Once the game was over I ran home, changed clothes and headed to help Trina with a model call for a fashion show that will be taking place on November 3 to benefit the Center for Black Women’s Wellness. She is in charge of the children’s portion of the show so we got to see some of the cutest little girls and boys strut their stuff. Our own two little beauties were in attendance.

I wonder what they were talking about. How cute is it that they're holding hands!

Left there and headed out to Stone Mountain for my bestie’s son’s birthday. By the time I got there I was starving. I hadn’t eaten all day and I know they probably thought I was greedy with all the pizza and chicken wings I ate. We all family though.

I ate cake too. I sure did.

Finally made it home to check out Evelyn’s interview on Oprah. I don’t really know what I have to say about that so I’ll refrain. Yet I will say blaming awful behavior on certain things is getting a little old. MY opinion.

Sunday, got my praise on then headed out for my weekly ME time thrifting ritual. I also slid by Kohl’s, went to Ulta to get my eyebrows arched and then stumbled upon a new store here called Five Below. That store was some kind of fantastic, I had never heard of nor seen one, but I will be back. The nail polish deals were amazing. They even had the Sally Hansen nail stickers for $3.

Enough about me. How was your weekend? Did you buy anything? Ever heard of Five Below?

uhmmm, I love 5 Below. Its amazing! I am so happy you found yours, and now you can properly love it. They have gorgeous polishes, not the best quality in the world, but perfect weekend outing colors, when you just need a day long manicure. They also have tshirts, flip flops, notebooks…pretty much every knick knack ever for under 5 bucks. I always buy phone cases there too, because the custom ones and the mall kiosk ones are for people who don’t actually DROP their phones, but just want them to look cute lol

I love Five Below! I go there to get nice, but cheap prizes for my kids at church. They have a lot of games and toys that you can find in Walmart. Chile, you had some Harold’s. Whew Lawd that is some good chicken, there!

You had such a busy weekend– I don’t know how you did all that within two days! As for me– nothing too busy— Yesterday was my oldest son’s 13th birthday so the entire weekend was dedicated to him. So that included lots of tears and tons of animals ( he’s an animal lover)

Fun weekend! That pic of the baby doll made me LOL and brought to mind the battered, hideous baby doll in Toy Story. Anyway, haven’t heard of 5 Below, but growing up on Columbus we had 10 Below and I used to shop there a lot when I was a pre-teen. Have a great week!

I have never heard of 5 below. Sounds like an awesome store (one that you can spend twenty bucks and not feel guilty about it).

We have Five Below in MD! I love that store and so do the kids. Sometimes as a reward or incentive, I’ll give them each $10 and let them loose in there to buy goodies.

WOW! You had a great weekend. It was my daughter’s 6th birthday and we had a mini spa party for her. How was Harold’s Chicken? I am from Chicago and ply like Harold’s in Chicago, I tried them other places and did not like it.

I love those little mini spa parties. I can’t wait until Lil Mama gets old enough so I can throw her one. The chicken was soooo good. I think it was the sauce and they were fried to perfection. There wasn’t a large selection of sides. They should probably work on that. Otherwise I will be adding that to my frequently visited spots.

Hey, I was thumbing through your hair tab looking for any Braided styles you might have here. I am thinking of putting some Senegalese twists in for a minute and just wanted your input.

I did not know you ran? I run with BGR here in the Charleston, SC area. I have not gone to any of the ATL events though. I hope to one day.

The little ones up top are too sweet.

I love the Senegalese twists. I was thinking about getting some myself but I am so fickle about things like that. I would probably leave them in for a month at max and they cost too much around here for that!
