Life NaBloPoMo Rant

Oh Ye of Little Faith

I have mentioned previously that I really would like to move into a new home. Our home is very cozy, however when we purchased it, we planned on only living here for 3 years max and then allowing my mother to stay when we moved on to a bigger home.

Well you know how the saying goes about planning. After my mother died 3 years ago, the market started heading down hill and I just wasn’t coherent enough to contemplate a move at that time so we stayed and now at 5 years it is time to move.

The Mr. and I decided today that we would start the process and if everything is a go that we would start looking at the beginning of the year. This makes me nervous. Just like me to want something to happen and then when it could possibly come to fruition I get scared.

Then I started thinking. Is it our time. I only thought this because I have seen so many people insist that God made a way for them to do XYZ and they forge ahead only to find themselves in a big ‘ole mess. Me and my over analytical self thinks often that people confuse God’s voice with their own.

See. IN MY OPINION, if God brings you something it will be smooth sailing. No need to rob Peter to pay Paul or leave ends untied. Then the other half of me says that God will bring you something that has trials and tribulations tied to it to prove that He can fix all things. I don’t know. I’m just rambling. But I’m tired of folks living above their means on the premise that God said it and then its a sob story when they can’t make their ends meet.

That being said. I want to move, but I’m a little scared. We’re comfortable. What do utilities look like in a bigger home, what will we do with our current home. Will we have a good tenant. What if they don’t pay.

I need to have faith in God. If He opens this door, I’ll make sure we stay below our means. I think He would honor that as being grateful instead of being greedy.

What’s your take. A door opens, do you run right through or do you think maybe God is testing you to use your discernment and that there just might be something better if you use patience instead of haste? I’m listening

Told you this everyday blogging would get random.

Fashion Lil Man NaBloPoMo Weekend

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend was action packed. Every now and again I have a weekend that is non stop. This was one of them.

Friday I went out with Trina and Niya to a party..details here. After the party Trina and I met up with Eboni the beauty and brains behind the fashion blog Fashionista Next Door. We headed over to J.R. Crickets. We talked and laughed and ate chicken wings and then we looked up and it was 2a.

I’m hooking up with Mom Trends for Monday Mingle. I wore.

Saturday morning I was SUPPOSED to run a 10K but I didn’t get home until really late and would’ve had to run 6 miles on 2 hours of sleep and some chicken wings and fries..I passed. Later took the children out to a fall festival. Hung out there for a few hours then met my husband to hand over the kids and switch cars and off I went to a pole dancing class with my SIL for her birthday.

You want me to do what?!!!

Just before I was about to go into my Fireman spin..Y'all are not ready

My sexy, pole dancing shoe

Let me say, if you haven’t been. GO! Great exercise, it wasn’t my first time going but I enjoyed it this time just as much as the first. Something about it gets you in touch with your inner sexy. It requires a ton of upper body strength. I am still sore.

After class we headed out to Cheesecake Factory. It is now 11:30 and I am exhausted. Found the energy to eat a D.licious Asian chicken salad and Chocolate Raspberry truffle cheesecake though. I get home around 2.

Get up early Sunday morning to head out to my son’s piano recital. I am so proud of him.

I'm tired. Can't you tell. Lil Mama was on diva mode. Excuse her

Head home, pick up some chicken from Publix, whip up some sides and watched some television…More specifically Real Housewives of Atlanta. Whooooweeeeeee this is going to be a season from the looks of the previews. I know I shouldn’t but I do…and I enjoy it. Makes me enjoy my quiet life and the lack of drama.

Phew..How was your weekend?

Inspiration Needed

Next weekend the Mr. and I are headed to the North Ga. mountains for our annual couples getaway. My MIL in law is coming to town to watch the children so we can avoid the mishap from last year found—-> here

Well now that I am trying to be more “domesticated” I have decided to try to whip up something special for our snacks and desserts during the weekend. Not having a clue where to start I am currently looking at Pinterest for inspiration. Here is what I’ve come up with. I’ll make sure to get pics of everything. Hopefully they won’t turn out like the cookies found—-> here.

When was the last time you got of town for a quick getaway? Are you traveling for the holidays?
