P.S. What Makes You Smile

I speak often about my treks to Tanger Outlet in Locust Grove to do some of that discount shopping that I do. One of the places that I frequent for shirts and pants for my son is P.S. from Aéropostale, a brand that caters to elementary school aged children.

P.S. from Aéropostale is currently running their second annual “What Makes You Smile T-shirt Contest” which is targeted towards children in grades 1-5. A winner will be selected from each grade. The top 100 finalists for each grade will be decided by public vote with the final winners being selected by P.S. experts.

The winners will have $1,000 donated to their school, and brand new P.S. t-shirts for their school’s entire student body. The winner will also receive a $500 P.S. from Aéropostale gift card and a quantity of their t-shirt design printed for distribution to their family and friends.  In addition the winning designs will be featured on mannequins in P.S. windows during the month of March.

Winners will be announced in December with school presentations taking place in February and March.

Please visit pswhatmakesyousmile.com for entry form and template. Entries must be in by October 31, 2012. Voting will run from November 1-15, 2012.

As an added bonus I will be hosting an event at the P.S. from Aéropostale location at Tanger Outlet in Locust Grove this Thursday, October 25 from 4-6. If you are on the southside please come by and have your child complete their entry  to get in the running!!!

Come check out P.S. from Aéropostale and me..Please?!!!

See ya there!

My Babies

A Day Out With Thomas

As I mentioned in my Weekend WrapUp post, this weekend the babies and I headed a few hours south of Atlanta to Cordele, GA for a Day Out with Thomas. The drive down wasn’t so bad but after those kids ran me ragged I was struggling trying to get back. They fell asleep before I pulled out of the parking lot good.

We were cutting it close so we had to run to get on the train for our scheduled 1:30 departure. The train was packed to capacity, we finally found our seats and right on time the conductor came over the loud speaker encouraging the children to yell “Push, Thomas, Push” in an effort to get the train rolling. Eventually the yells became deafening enough and we were on our way!!

The scenery was beautiful. We chugged along over Lake Blackshear and before we knew it we were headed back to the station. If there was one negative to be said, the train ride was a little short, but then again in a train car full of children…..

After getting off of the train there was a plethora of FREE activities for the children to participate in. Bounce houses, a playground, funnel cakes, face painting, temporary tattoos, story telling. Just a whole lot of fun activities.

We ate, played and enjoyed ourselves before heading home. Thomas will be in Cordele for another weekend before moving on to his next stop. Please visit a Day Out With Thomas online for additional information regarding ticket prices and locations. This was a wonderful fall activity for the family to enjoy.

I was provided compensation for this post. However, you already know from now until the end of time all opinions are mine.
Mama's Babies Weekend

Weekend Wrapup

I survived another busy weekend and I’m alive to tell you about it!

Friday, I finally got up the courage to really dye my hair. A few weeks ago I got my feet wet with a few highlights but I really wanted a new look. I decided on Friday I was going to live a little and went to the hair salon and ended up like this

I like it…I think. It’s a little bright but seeing that I have had dark hair the majority of my life I suppose it will take some getting used to.

Saturday the babies and I headed down to Cordele, GA which is about 2 hours from here to do a Day Out with Thomas.  I went last year, and remember I left my camera. Not this year, between my phone and camera I was able to capture a good amount of photos. I will do an in depth post later in the week. This should hold you until then!

Thomas-The-Train

Sunday, Trina over at The Baby Shopaholic hosted a fab event for mommies and daughters. While the moms were getting educated on products and methods to use in styling natural hair the little ones were downstairs getting primped and pampered. Another detailed post on this event later in the week..These sweet faces will hold you over!

How was your weekend?

Beauty Nail Polish

MANICure MONDAY

So you guys already know I have an unhealthy obsession with nail polish.

To be honest I don’t think its the polish itself…okay it is. Yet there is also the underlying fact that shiny nails can represent so much more.

Nothing like looking down at shiny nails, and realizing that whether you took out the time to go to the salon or did them yourself, you actually took out a few minutes for yourself.

Something as small as a new nail color can do wonders. I thought I would set up a weekly link up to encourage everyone to just take a little time out during the week to do something for you.

So if you keep a fresh manicure, make sure to come and link up on Mondays and show off your digits and find some new bloggy friends.

I’ll go first. I hope to have a badge by next week. In the meantime just link back to this post

In honor of Halloween, last week I went with orange and black nails. I took my inspiration from Pinterest.

I used Revlon brand in Siren and a black nail art pen that I got from Dollar Tree

Here is my final result..I know it looks a little shaky but I was alright with how it turned out. I did the “sandwhich” method and it lasted for an entire week.

The linky will be open for the entire week!
