Here’s some randoms..

Okay. Addison has turned into this diva child over night. I don’t know where it came from but I am daily finding myself trying to mask laughter while attempting to scold her for some of her ridiculous and mean behavior. Lately all of the pictures I have been taking of her look like this…I wonder where she gets it from

 My son is doing really well in school. He is  reading on a 5th grade level. I went and visited a private school that is not far from our new house. I fell in love with it. Although we don’t know how we will pay for it, we are going to let him test in and figure it out later…Faith anyone?

I am finally coming to grips with the fact that a new Divinitee line will have to be put off until the Spring. I just can’t make the money appear and with the astronomical amount of money that we have to come up with for the new house right now I don’t see it…I am finally fine with that.

I am getting a lot of new opportunities for this here blog.  I am turning down some things but you will start to see a few more giveaways and sponsored posts. If I am presented something that I am interested in or is child centric I am going to bring it here with the thought that you might be interested in it as well. NOPE this will not become a giveaway/review blog, but what kind of cyber home girl would I be if I didn’t share good and useful information/products with you?!!

I am on the hunt for a pair of printed leggings. Preferably a pair that make me look “thick.”

One of our cars will be paid off next month!!! OMG, I talked all that mess about driving it until the wheels fall off and saving up half of the money for our next car purchase and now I can’t wait until we close on the house so I can get a new car…I know.

I am back to my old ways. I was doing good and then last week alone I bought a whopping 12 bottles of nail polish…and the cycle starts again. Every time I go in the store I have to buy a new bottle. Since I am so passionate about nail polish be on the look out Mondays for my link up where you can come and show off your newest manicure. Be ready on Monday okay?!

The baby is sick with a runny nose and a cough. We were up all last night and guess what…I feel the tingle in my throat. :-/

The WotWots Giveaway

Prior to being contacted to do this giveaway I had heard of The WotWots in passing but had never watched the show. So just in case you are wondering what in the world a WotWot is let me school you.

The WotWots are an alien brother and sister duo that land in the New Zealand zoo in a spacecraft and set about exploring and learning about the animals. The show looks to encourage preschool children to learn and discover new things and their surroundings. Appreciation and care of animals along with learning new words and finding new ways to explore creativity daily are just a few of the concepts delivered through the adventures of The WotWots.

Wardrobe Wednesday…Chunky Knits

I love anything knitted or crocheted. I just do…and if I could take out the time to learn and stop making Etsy shops rich I might have more in my wardrobe.

Like the cardigan, a chunky knit instantly transforms the drab into fab. Its a statement piece that needs no competition. Jeans, a shirt and a nice stud earring is all you need to let a chunky knit steal the show.

I have had some luck finding the best chunky knits at  TJ Maxx/Marshalls and in the thrift store, oh and on Etsy.

Chunky knits are another fab and functional item that is worth adding to your wardrobe.

Swerve

It happens to the best of us.

We hear or see spectacular things happening in the lives of others and before we know it we’ve swerved out of our lane, craning our necks to see what’s going on in theirs.

I keep it real here, so its nothing but pure honesty that I come here and say that I have been swerving a bit more for my liking these past few weeks. Questioning why things are happening for some people and not for me, envisioning myself in someone else’s shoes. I hate to call it envy but sometimes you literally have to tell the truth and shame the devil. *slaps the table and in my Iyanla voice yells, “Call a thing a thing.”*

See, the thing is as emotional humans it is virtually impossible to at times not envision yourself in someone else’s shoes, or find yourself possibly trying to alter your path to hopefully get the same end result as another person. We may deep down inside know and believe that God has a specific plan detailed with our name on it but in that minute when you got that call and that person needed you to be happy for them and you instead had to swallow that gulp in your throat and wonder why not me……Don’t act. You know what I’m talking about.

The beauty of living is that we can wallow in those feeling for a short time before coming back to our senses and allow ourselves to reflect on past life lessons that have taught us that everything that glitters “ain’t” gold and that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Getting to this place takes dedication and a desire to live YOUR best life.

Just like when driving a car, when we get distracted from the task at hand which is driving to our destination we can easily find ourselves drifting off into someone else’s space. It is that quick reflex that causes us to react on the road that we also need to implement in our lives. The sad thing is some people don’t know to go back in their lane they just “Debo” their way into a space that was not meant for them. Not sure what “Debo” means, reference the movie Friday. Still not familiar? Maybe check the urban dictionary?

I’m back in my lane now, I was even polite and turned on my blinker cause forget swervin’, I was all in their lane!!

The truth shall set you free. Are you guilty of swerving?
