8 Things To Consider When Purchasing a New Home

Purchasing a new home

Nearly a year being in this home I am still often haunted at the process it took to get here. Selling and purchasing a home in last year’s market was not for the weak. Outside of the market dictating some of our issues I thought I would give those of you considering the leap a few tips.

1. Decide What To Do With Your Current Home: If you currently own a home, don’t assume you have to sell it. If you would like to keep it as an income property speak with a mortgage specialist before starting your search. We found out months later into our process that we could’ve kept our home. Had we known earlier we may have put the search off a few months to save the additional monies needed to keep it as a rental property.

Summer Vacation Week 5

countdown

Halfway there.

Last week was rough. Being a WAHM with 3 kids in perpetual motion at all times amidst blaring televisions, rugs with sharpie stains and the background noise of constant bickering is enough to send any mother batty.

Last week I was close to it. Even grabbed the calendar and started crossing off  days advent calendar style. How appropriate as Christmas in July approaches. August 4th can’t come fast enough. They were at VBS for the first part of the day and I could just taste it.

Summer Vacation Week I

Our first week of Summer Vacation is over.

I have created a weekly schedule that involves school work, library, etc. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are reserved for outings and field trips.

For the first week of break I decided to let them have free fun.

We spent lots of time outdoors, riding bikes, taking walks and hanging out.

Thursday I was given a Media Pass to visit Six Flags’ new waterpark, Hurricane Harbor. The kids had a ball, and so did I. I’ll blog more about that later in the week.

The rest of the week and weekend was low key. You know the normal, cleaning, grocery shopping…..and I got that accent wall done. Reveal to come this week!

How was your weekend? What do you have planned for your children this summer?

This weekend was the perfect kick off to Summer.

Addison’s last day of school was last Wednesday and Adrian’s was Friday. Come Saturday morning we had a house full of children to include my nephew, as well as my niece and her friend.

By 11a everyone including the Mr. and I was outside playing.

When it was too hot to play outside the older children ventured inside to help my MIL make a cake. I just love this photo, as we know Big Mama doesn’t exist any more and it was such a joy to see them in the kitchen with Grandma.

While everyone was sucking up the air inside and taste testing cake batter I was left outside with a sweet little girl who got a new bike and was dead set on riding and roasting in the afternoon sun.

Once it cooled off  everyone made their way back outside for a little evening breeze. My niece caught this photo of the Mr. and I. You know he makes rare appearances around here.

Later in the evening my bestie Erika stopped by with her family. While watching the playoff game #GoHeat,  we snuck in a few #Usies

Sunday, we ventured to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party.

Today/Monday we are planning to stay close to home. We may take a visit to a local park that has a dedicated memorial section for our fallen soldiers. Maybe I’ll try to recreate this photo from last year

A HUGE thank you to all who have served and are serving. Please be sure to tell Service Men/Women thank you when you see them.

Have a great Memorial Day!!!
